Heading to Spain

sunny 79 °F

Busy day, up early, finished packing, dropped off car, caught bus into town, caught train to Montpellier..... and that was the first hour! Nice train, we had, of course, packed sandwich and wine so partook of that while reading and watching the countryside pass us by. Spent a couple of hours in Montpellier waiting for our second train ... not a problem because we people watched and drank pastise, one of our new favorite drinks!
Train from Monpellier to Girona, Spain was about three and a half hours half of which Q and I slept through. We did have an interesting experience when the train guards at the Spanish border wanted to see all passports. Poor Q had just gotten up the nerve to use the restroom (a somewhat challenging experience for her), and the guard started knocking on the door, thinking someone was hiding!!! Didn´t take Q long to come running out!!!! Fortunately, she didn´t look like a fugitive and was holding an American Passport..... The guards also took a dislike to a young man sat opposite us, and eventually extracted him right out of his seat... we are still not sure if he made it to his destination. After he disappeared the train began moving again!
My dear old Friend Ted met us at the train station and we drove into Lloret, a place I used to live back in my younger (much) days! Now the fabulous description of his villa will begin.
Four floors, with an elevator, six bathrooms, two pools-one inside, one outside, hot tub, sauna, steam room (ceiling lights have twinkling stars), gym (the ceiling in this area looks like the sky). We have two floors to ourselves one floor with our bedrooms and bathrooms and our own seating area, plus another floor with a kitchen living room, and patios )yes more than one). Ted´s area is on the top floor and is absolutely fabulous! The whole villa faces towards the ocean and we have a spectacular view of the whole town.... we sit and watch the lights and the fireworks and boats, water skiers, and parasailers..... We arn´t sure yet if we are leaving here to head to our next destination because its just too bloody nice!
Our first evening here Ted and the two of us just sat around, one one of the patios, catching up and exchanging stories.... while consuming 5 bottles of a wonderful sparkling rose! Another new favorite Rose wine! Around Midnight we gave up and retired to our suites...... it was a good day - again!
